11/7/2017 0 Comments Every Good & Perfect GiftEvery means every. A strong cappuccino, a beautiful sunset, a compassionate giver, a stunning piece of art. Those are easy. But what about… The secular pop star with incredible talent and disdain for Christianity…their pristine voice is from God. The co-worker that gets all of the top sales awards, while spreading lies and gossip about co-workers…their sales ability is from God. The kid in your class who wins at everything and constantly rubs it in…their talents are from God. Every means every. And James tells us that EVERY good and perfect gift is from above. And EVERY person is created in the image and likeness of God. Everything that is good is from God and can be used for His glory and advancing His kingdom. But sin…sin distorts the good. Sin keeps the good gifts from doing good things. The gift comes from God, but we have a choice as to how we will we use those gifts. We can be good stewards of our gifts or we can use them for selfish, or even evil, purposes. Imagine how different things would look if the image bearers of God used the gifts entrusted to us by Him for good. It would look a lot like heaven on earth.
